Yoga is a profound part of the Vedic culture. Yoga practices underlie at the heart of all Hinduism (Sanskrit "Sanatan Dharma") schools. Sanatana Dharma means "the eternal law" - the law of all beings’ evolution.

Advaita is an ancient doctrine that tells us about human nature as divine initially. "Advaita" can be translated as "not two". Soul is not separated from God. God is a reality that permeates everything.

Meeting of the public commission on compliance of religious rights



In Divya Loka there was held a scheduled assembly of the Public Committee on nurturing tolerance, protecting human rights and freedoms of religious minorities and overcoming xenophobia.

Goal and the main theme of the meeting was the analysis of the work of commission for the past six months on topics of overcoming xenophobia, maintenance of interfaith dialogue and protection of the rights and freedoms of believers.

In the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman reminded about those interfaith meetings, in which the Centre took part in the past six months. It were interfaith and scientific conferences in different cities of the country.

Further, the committee members expressed the need to continue organizing interfaith dialogues in different cities. Since the most numerous religious organization in Russia is the Russian Orthodox Church, it is essential to establish a friendly dialogue with the representatives of this confession in order to identify common humanistic values ​​that can serve as a basis for further understanding and cooperation.

Besides the official meetings, there were established many friendly connections with representatives of the different communities for past half year. Divya Loka representatives briefly talked about the scientific and religious figures with whom they met on trips to cities in Russia, about the positive impression of the activities of the Centre, the willingness of communities and their representatives to develop further relations on the basis of mutual activities and cooperation in the related fields.

This year was also great in terms of foreign relations and meetings. A big positive experience of the Forum "Era of Unity" was obtained in Spain. Enterprize and activity of the organizers was admired by the Mayor of Santa Susanna, which contributed to obtaining official accreditation of the Ministry of Culture representative from the Center of Vedic culture in Spain.

There were held successful dialogues with well-known foreign religious leaders, representatives of public organizations. Unity of goals in serving the humanity and the spread of humanistic ideals allowed to establish friendly relations with the leaders of different countries and continents, which will certainly result in further communication and cooperation. Divya Loka activity has gained respect and approval from spiritual teachers of different faiths.

A very important point was also noted- the study of Russian legislation in the sphere of religion for constructive dialogue with the competent authorities. Honoured lawyer of Russia A. Pchelintcev and Chairman of the Guild of Experts on Religion and Law I. Zagrebina especially prepared a collection of basic laws and answers to common questions and situations related to the violation of the rights of believers for religious groups.

Summarizing meeting, the committee members noted productive work of Divya Loka representatives and the committee in particular, with respect to establishing a harmonious and friendly interfaith relations based on respect for uniform ethics, rights and freedoms of believers of different confessions and nations.
