Yoga is a profound part of the Vedic culture. Yoga practices underlie at the heart of all Hinduism (Sanskrit "Sanatan Dharma") schools. Sanatana Dharma means "the eternal law" - the law of all beings’ evolution.
Advaita is an ancient doctrine that tells us about human nature as divine initially. "Advaita" can be translated as "not two". Soul is not separated from God. God is a reality that permeates everything.
October 21, 2013 Center for Vedic Culture «Divya Loka» held a press conference in Nizhny Novgorod, where it was talked about a 12-year-old community activity. The aim of the conference was presentation of the Center by providing objective and comprehensive information on the activities for media.
The official representative of the Center Ilya Kurylenko declared about the readiness for a productive dialogue with the authorities: «We have also invited officials or their deputies to visit the Centre, located in the village of Chuhlomka in the Vetluzhsky area in order they can see the way of life of the Russian Hindus and evaluate our contribution to the cultural diversity of the Nizhny Novgorod region. We hope for their objective view about our activiy».
Another participant of the press conference, a monk of the Hindu community Ramanatha said that the inhabitants of Divya Loka are the followers of traditional Hinduism. «We are recognized by a famous Indian monastic order «Juna Akhara», which has existed in India for more than ten centuries and more than a million people are in it. There are few of us in Russia, but we also follow traditional yogic commandments and try to live harmoniously and peacefully», - he said.
According to religious scholar, sociology, leading researcher of the Institute of Europe RAS Roman Lunkin Nizhny Novgorod region is rich with ancient religious traditions, such as the Orthodox and the Old Belief. The center of the Russian-speaking Hindus should be welcomed. «I think that the government ought to appreciate the fact that people are engaged in socially useful activities and spread the spiritual and moral ideas around them», - said R. Lunkin.
Lawyer Mikhail Frolov, who spoke earlier in the defense in a cause celebre with Bhagavad Gita in Tomsk, shared his experience in dealing with religious organizations: «If you can introduce yourself to the society and public authorities, then you shift the next level which is a harmonious dialogue. You will be heard and listened to. And this is very important. The history witnessed the process in development of other religious communities in Russia», - said M. Frolov.
According to him, for the state and local authorities interest is to «direct a noble Hindu impulse of disinterested service to the benefit of the entire society».
For its part I. Kurylenko assured that the cultural center will make its best to become the pride of the Nizhny Novgorod region. «We want to be useful for society and state. What can we do? We pray in our cells, we build beautiful churches and do landscaping. People who come to us do not necessarily have to join our faith. Just being there, they see the fruits of our labor and rejoice. If «Divya Loka» becomes an attraction of the Nizhny Novgorod region, I believe it will be a decent estimate our humble service», - said I. Kurylenko.
Vedic culture is based on the Universe laws of evolution described in the scriptures of Hinduism "Vedas". They guide a human life, leading to harmony, happiness and creative prosperity.
