Yoga is a profound part of the Vedic culture. Yoga practices underlie at the heart of all Hinduism (Sanskrit "Sanatan Dharma") schools. Sanatana Dharma means "the eternal law" - the law of all beings’ evolution.
Advaita is an ancient doctrine that tells us about human nature as divine initially. "Advaita" can be translated as "not two". Soul is not separated from God. God is a reality that permeates everything.
Diwali is celebrated widely in India and around the world. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness. Diwali is also celebrated by Russian-speaking followers of Hinduism in Divya Loka on the 3d of November.
The goddess of wealth and fertility, Lakshmi, is revered during Diwali. Houses are thoroughly cleaned; all the lights are lit, as the goddess does not like the dark. One should turn to her with a prayer, bring her sweetness and leave the doors and windows open at night for her it is easier to enter the house.
The feast attended by guests from different cities and traditions - Vaishnava. The festival program, which began in the morning and lasted until late night included creative performances, lighting of candles, fire show, worship for Lakshmi, lanterns launch, and other.
The members from Vaishnava Society for Krishna Consciousness offered dinner to everyone and later sang the Vedic mantras.
